O ressurgir da China como potência global está a afectar de forma crescente o mundo. É preocupante a nova tendência dos académicos de conhecer cada vez mais, sobre cada vez menos e a sua exponencial incapacidade de generalização, em todos os aspectos, sobre o desenvolvimento da China, ou seja, nas últimas três décadas, a comunidade académica tem realizado estudos imensos acerca de fenómenos no micro nível, o que talvez tenha permitido conhecer mais sobre as “árvores”, o que não implica necessariamente ter uma melhor compreensão sobre a “floresta”.
