Although the earliest appearance of the term ‘globalization’ in the English language can be traced back to the 1930s, it was not until more than half a century later that the concept took the world by storm. ‘Globalization’ emerged as the buzzword of the 1990s, because it captured the increasingly interconnected nature of social life on our planet mediated by the ICT revolution and the global integration of markets. Twenty-five years later, globalization has remained a hot topic. Indeed, one can track millions of references to the term in both virtual and printed space.

Ketones are created from the fat breakdown, in the liver.

A "Nova Rota da Seda", também conhecida como a iniciativa "Uma Faixa, Uma Rota (OBOR na sigla em língua inglesa)” ou “Iniciativa Faixa e Rota (BRI na sigla em língua inglesa)” abreviadamente designada por “Iniciativa”, é uma estratégia de desenvolvimento proposta pela China, que visa promover a cooperação económica e a ligação, principalmente, entre países euro-asiáticos.  A Iniciativa é denominada, por comparação com a "Rota da Seda", que era um caminho antigo de seis mil e quatrocentos e trinta e sete quilómetros de comprimento, que remonta à Dinastia Han Ocidental (206 aC - 220 dC) e costumava ligar as regiões da Ásia Oriental com o Médio Oriente e a Europa, tendo feito prosperar numerosas civilizações euro-asiáticas durante séculos.

 As empresas multinacionais precisam de elaborar agendas governamentais e societárias que estão localizadas e ligadas entre países. As pressões anti-globalização exigem que as multinacionais ofereçam mais benefícios locais e os comuniquem nos países onde operam. Esses esforços devem ir muito além da conformidade, incluindo contribuições sob a forma de empregos e tecnologia. A reacção contra a globalização, também é em parte contra os enormes negócios, alguns obscuros. É claro que existem riscos a avaliar para se poder ir mais longe na localização. É de considerar que ainda que abominável, a IBM colaborou com a ascensão do regime nazi na Alemanha e ao invés de recuar, mesmo quando ficou esclarecido que o recenseamento da empresa estava a ser usado para identificar os judeus por perseguição, procurou expandir os seus negócios com o governo nazi, a ponto de em 1937, o então presidente, ter sido premiado e ter aceitado uma medalha de Hitler por serviço ao Reich.
